Ingredients:
1. White Chickpeas/Chana - 1 cup (soaked overnight)
2. Onion - 1 (chopped)
3. Tomato - 1 (chopped)
4. Red Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
5. Green chilli - 3-4 (chopped)
6. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
7. Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
8. Tamarind paste - 1 tsp
9. Garlic cloves - 3 (chopped)
10. Salt to taste
11. Coriander leaves to garnish
12. Oil for frying
13. Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Preparation:
1. Heat oil in a pan. Sizzle cumin seeds.
2. Add onions along with garlic and green chilli. Saute well till onions turn translucent
3. Add tomatoes and cook till it becomes mushy
4. Add tamarind paste, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt and mix well. Cook this for another 1 minute
5. Now add the soaked chickpeas/chana and mix well.
6. Pour enough water, mix well and cook covered till chana get fully cooked
7. Open lid and cook till you get a thicker gravy
8. Garnish with coriander leaves
Serve hot wit chapathi, roti or puri
Note: For an easy version you can pressure cook the soaked chana for 4-5 whistles to cook faster. But cooking in the gravy makes it tastier
