Potato Bonda / Masala Bonda / Aloo Bonda

Ingredients:
1. Potato - 4
2. Green Chilli - 4 (thinly chopped)
3. Garlic cloves - 4 (thinly shopped)
4. Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
5. Pepper powder - 1 tsp
6. Onion - 1 (thinly chopped)
7. Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup (chopped)
8. All Purpose Flour/Maida - 3 tbsp
9. Gram Flour/Besan - 3 tbsp
10. Salt to taste
11. Oil for frying
12. Water as required

Preparation:
1. Clean and peel the skin of potato. Cut into cubes and boil it till it becomes fully cooked and easy to smash. Drain away the water and smash the potatoes. Keep aside
2. Heat little oil in a pan. Fry the green chillies and garlic.
3. Add the onions and saute well till they turn golden brown
4. Add turmeric powder, pepper powder, salt and fry for 1 minute
5. Now add the smashed potatoes, coriander leaves and mix well till everything is combined. Cook for 1 minute. Keep aside to cool.
6. Divide the mixture into 10-12 lemon sized balls
7. Make a thick and smooth batter with maida, besan, little salt and chilli powder by adding sufficient water
8. Heat 1 cup of oil in a deep kadai/wok
9. Dip the potato mixture balls into the batter and deep fry until golden brown
10. Remove to paper towel
Serve hot with tomato ketchup or mint chutney
