Parippu Mulakku Kachiyathu / Simple Dal Curry - Kerala Style / Lenthil Curry - Kerala Style

Ingredients:

1. Lenthils / Toor Dal / Sambar Dal - 100 gm
2. Dry Red Chilli - 5 - 6 ( u can add more as per your choice)
3. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
4. Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
5. Shallots / Small onions - 6-8 (thinly sliced)
6. Oil - 2 tsp
7. Salt to taste
8. Coriander leaves to garnish (optional)

Preparation:
1. Wash and cook the dal with 2 cups water and salt in a pressure cooker for 3-4 whistles. Drain away excess water if any
2. Crush the dried red chilies
3. Heat oil in a pan, fry the shallots and crushed red chilies
4. Add turmeric powder and cook for 1 minute
5. Put curry leaves
6. Now add the cooked dal and mix well
7. Cook till it boils
8. Garnish with coriander leaves (optional)
9. Serve hot with plain rice
