Ingredients:
1. Beef - 1/2 kg
2. Onion - 1 (chopped)
3. Ginger - garlic - 3 tbsp (crushed)
4. Coriander powder - 2 tsp
5. Red Chilli powder - 1 tsp
6. Tomato - 1 (chopped)
7. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
8. Garam masala - 1 tsp (ground black pepper, cumin seeds, cardamon pods, cinnamon stick & cloves)
9. Crushed pepper corns - 1 tsp
10. Fennel powder - 1 tbsp
11. Coconut pieces - 1/4 cup
12. Curry leaves - 1 sprig
13. Oil for frying
14. Salt to taste
Preparation:
1. Wash and clean the beef. Cut into small cube pieces and keep to drain
2. Marinate with 1 tbsp crushed ginger-garlic, turmeric powder and little salt. Keep aside for 15-20 minutes
3. Pressure cook the marinated beef for 3-4 whistles. Drain away any water left and keep aside
4. Heat oil in a pan. Add the remaining crushed ginger garlic and saute well
5. Add onions and saute till they turn golden brown. You can add the coconut pieces at this point and mix well
6. Put coriander powder, red chilli powder and fry for 1 minute
7. Add the tomatoes and cook till it turns mushy
8. Add beef and mix well. Stir fry till it turns black color and dry.
9. Add garam masala powder, fennel powder, crushed pepper, curry leaves and mix well
Serve hot with kerala poratha, ghee rice or roti
