Ingredients:
1. Green peas - 1/2 cup (frozen)
2. French beans - 1/2 cup (chopped)
3. Onion - 1 (chopped)
4. Tomato - 1 (chopped)
5. Green chilli - 1
6. Ginger - 1 inch piece (chopped)
7. Garlic cloves - 4 (chopped)
8. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
9. Coriander powder - 2 tsp
10. Red Chilli powder - 1 tsp
11. Cumin powder - 3/4 tsp
12. Garam masala - 1 tsp
13. Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
14. Oil - 3 tsp
15. Butter - 1 1/2 tsp
16. Salt to taste
17. Coriander leaves to garnish
Preparation:
1. Heat butter with 1 tsp oil in a pan. Saute the onions till it turns golden brown
2. Add ginger, garlic, green chilli and saute for 2 minutes
3. Add tomatoes and cook till it turns mushy
4. Remove from pan and keep it to cool. In a blender, grind it to a fine paste
5. Heat little oil in a pan and fry the green peas. Keep aside.
6. Boil the french beans till cooked and keep aside
7. Heat oil in a pan. Splutter jeera seeds
8. Add the ground paste and mix well
9. Put the turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt and fry for 1 minute.
10. Add green peas and french beans. Mix well and add little water to get a thick gravy
11. Garnish with coriander leaves
Serve hot with chapathi, roti or pulao
Note: If dry peas is used, soak it overnight and pressure cook adding salt.
